Upgrade a WP7702 with latest Firmware

This page provides the instructions to upgrade locally your module WP7702 with the latest Octave firmware.

Prerequisites

1. (Windows only) If you are a Windows user, the first time you must install the driver on your computer. WP7702 driver for Windows. It is an .exe file, run it and follow the prompts. It shall run smoothly!

2. Connect your laptop to the module via the USB port.

3. Open a terminal or a Windows command tool. Test the connection issuing ping command (press Ctrl-C to interrupt):

You shall now be able to ssh and copy files into the WP7702.

Download the latest Octave firmware

Download the latest stable release: 3.0.0 for WP7702 (module only).

Install the firmware to your WP7702

1. Copy the firmware to the WP7702

scp module-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk [email protected]:/tmp/module-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk

2. ssh in the WP7702

ssh [email protected]

3. Install the package

fwupdate download /tmp/module-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk

The WP7702 will reboot after installing the new firmware.
