Upgrade a mangOH red with latest Firmware

This page provides the instructions to upgrade locally your mangOH red with the latest Octave firmware.

Prerequisites

  1. (Windows only) If you are a Windows user, the first time you must install the driver on your computer. WP7702 driver for Windows. It is an .exe file, run it and follow the prompts. It shall run smoothly!

  2. Connect your laptop to the mangOH red via the USB port.

  3. Open a terminal or a Windows command tool. Test the connection issuing ping command (press Ctrl-C to interrupt):

You shall now be able to ssh and copy files into the mangOH red.

Download the latest Octave firmware

Download the latest stable release: 3.0.0 for mangOH red.

Install the firmware to your mangOH red

  1. Copy the firmware to the mangOH
scp mangOH-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk [email protected]:/tmp/mangOH-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk
  1. ssh in the mangOH
  1. Install the package
fwupdate download /tmp/mangOH-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk

The mangOH will reboot after installing the new firmware.
