Upgrade a FX30/FX30S with latest Firmware

This page provides the instructions to locally upgrade your FX30 or FX30S with the latest Octave firmware.

Prerequisites

  1. (Windows only) If you are a Windows user, the first time you must install the driver on your computer. WP7702 driver for Windows. It is an .exe file, run it and follow the prompts. It shall run smoothly!

  2. Connect your laptop to the FX30/FX30S via the USB port.

  3. Open a terminal or a Windows command tool. Test the connection issuing ping command (press Ctrl-C to interrupt):

You shall now be able to ssh and copy files into the FX30.

Download the latest Octave firmware

Download the latest stable release: 3.0.0 for FX30.

Install the firmware to your FX30

  1. Copy the firmware to the FX30
scp fx30-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk [email protected]:/tmp/fx30-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk
  1. ssh in the FX30
  1. Install the package
fwupdate download /tmp/fx30-3.0.0.wp77xx.spk

The FX30 will reboot after installing the new firmware.
