HeartBeat

The Cloud Interface includes a heartbeat_on_empty property. When enabled, the device will send a message to the cloud to update the last time the device was seen, regardless of whether there is anything in the Store and Forward buffer. This lets the cloud know that the device is online and operating.

To configure heartbeat on empty:

1. Open the Octave Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Resources and locate /cloudInterface/store_forward.
3. Enable heartbeat_on_empty to force the device to send a message even if the Store and Forward buffer is empty.
4. Click Apply to save the changes.
